Meet Ronen Sionov: The Mind Behind Home Market

Ronen Sionov founded Home Market and has been breathing entrepreneurship his entire career. We sat down with him to understand the philosophy and values that shape the company from the inside out.

What inspired you to start Home Market?

A simple observation: people had stopped walking into real estate offices and started searching online. They wanted a brand that felt current and credible, but still personal. That gap was the opportunity.

What does Home Market specialize in?

We believe in focus. Tel Aviv is our home, and we treat each neighborhood as its own market because that’s exactly what each one is – different pricing, different buyers, different dynamics. We concentrate on three core areas: the city center around Rothschild Boulevard, the northern Jaffa area including Neve Tzedek and Florentin, and the Old North up to the Yarkon. Our projects division covers a wider range, from Haifa to Eilat, with a strong base in greater Tel Aviv.

Real estate is competitive. What makes Home Market different?

Our people. Agents are the face of the brand, so we’re very deliberate about who we bring on. We tell candidates upfront that our process is thorough – we take the time because a good fit matters to both sides. Our agents are smart, attentive, and genuinely professional, and they stay. Some have been with us for over a decade. Clients who’ve been through the process elsewhere tend to notice the difference, and many come back. Trust builds referrals, and referrals build everything.

How do you keep the team sharp?

We hire curious people – that’s the starting point. Expertise can be taught, but the hunger to keep learning has to already be there. We build training and professional development into the annual calendar, and anything worth knowing gets shared with the whole team in real time. Market shifts, new legislation, interesting deals – nothing sits in a drawer. We’re in daily communication.

How do you make the process feel manageable for clients?

Clarity, consistency, and genuine follow-through. Everything is tracked in our CRM so nothing falls through the cracks. We stay close to property owners throughout the process and get to know buyers well enough to reach out proactively when the right property comes up. Our offices are designed to feel welcoming. Meetings go as deep as they need to. And when it’s time to negotiate, we take the lead and make sure both sides leave satisfied.

How does technology fit into all of this?

It was central to the vision from day one. We use a flexible CRM with custom automations that help us reach the right client at the right moment. We use AI and call monitoring for quality control. The industry is moving fast and we move with it – there’s more in development right now.

How do you build trust?

Returning clients say it better than anything we could. Our client base includes senior executives and business leaders across Israel – that kind of clientele doesn’t come without genuine professionalism and transparency. Our BDI ranking reflects it externally. But really, it comes down to knowing your clients personally and actually wanting to help them.

What gives you the most satisfaction?

Watching the team work well together. When the right people are operating at the right standard, deals happen naturally – and every deal means someone found the home they were looking for, or got the result they needed on a sale. That’s what it’s all about.

How do you stay balanced running a demanding business?

Having the right people around you makes delegation possible, and delegation makes balance possible. Everyone on the team knows their role and their targets. Real estate is demanding by nature – that’s not going to change. But I’m a family man, and I protect that time. It recharges me and makes me a better leader.

What makes a great agent?

Drive, curiosity, consistency, and the ability to adapt. Those are non-negotiable for us. A technically talented agent without those qualities won’t last here. But what’s interesting is that the team culture tends to bring those qualities out in people who have even a trace of them.

What would you tell someone just starting out?

Treat it like a marathon. The people who come in chasing quick money usually don’t last. There’s a real learning curve here, and it’s worth respecting. Do the work, go through the stages, and build your foundation alongside people who will help you get it right. The results come — but they take time to earn.

Where is Home Market headed?

Real estate isn’t going anywhere. Every difficult period in the market has eventually given way to growth, and the structural demand in Israel – driven by population growth and a deep cultural attachment to homeownership – isn’t changing. I see Home Market expanding into investment properties, international real estate, and development over the coming years. We’ll keep doing what we do: helping people find the right home, and helping owners get the right result.
